A Little About
What I Offer. Therapy and Spiritual Teaching for Navigating Trauma, Spiritual Emergency, & Other Blocks on the Spiritual Path
I like to get to the root of things.
I want to help you heal and transform to the fullest extent possible. I want to support you in seeing the beauty and intelligence in the aspects of yourself that you run from. I want to support you in being who you are, without fear. I want to support you in recognizing and utilizing the wisdom that already pervades your experience. I want to support you in falling in love with yourself, and with life.
Somewhere within us, we all long for peace, for a feeling of pure freedom. We all long to know what’s true in life, and to be fully ourselves. This is the path I offer to my people. |
Awakening is a word that conjures up very different things for people. What I mean when I use that word is simply that I support my clients and students in recognizing the true nature underlying their experience.
If you have a trauma history, have experienced a spiritual emergency or are experiencing a spiritual crisis, I know how far away peace can feel. I know how desperate you can be to find relief, and to feel understood. I know that talk about freedom and peace can feel hollow and disingenuous - I’ve been there myself.
There are plenty of great trauma therapists out there, and there are plenty of great spiritual teachers, but there are not many of either yet who understand the relationship between meditation and trauma, or who have studied how to deeply release trauma while still facilitating someone’s path of enlightenment.
There are actually so many of you who are finding that spiritual teachings are not enough, that they don’t speak to your whole experience. Maybe you have had a deep intuition that they speak the truth, but still find yourself stuck in suffering.
I know how confusing and frustrating that can be. And I find deep satisfaction and joy in standing in this intersection, and helping people find their way through.

I have particular expertise in the challenges modern Westerners face in shifting their perspective in the way awakening asks.
Maybe you’re feeling stuck, disconnected, or triggered. You might’ve realized you’ve been spiritually bypassing, or perhaps you’re experiencing things that are strange and that you don’t know how to explain. Perhaps you’ve developed a chronic illness alongside your practice, or perhaps your energy feels amplified or out of control.
Maybe your self-hatred or people pleasing is unabated. Perhaps you’re experiencing a dark night of the soul, or trying to recover from spiritual abuse by a teacher or partner. Maybe you feel that the spiritual spaces you’ve encountered are overly biased towards the masculine, or towards the white experience.
There are so many ways that we may not feel met by prior therapy or spiritual support.
I rely on trauma work (primarily Somatic Experiencing® and Organic Intelligence) and parts work (Internal Family Systems) to help my people heal. I also have complete trust that our bodies and minds already contain the imprint for our unique healing process. I have extensively cultivated the ability to follow and facilitate that wisdom.
This type of work is generally not quick, and it’s generally not easy. It means facing parts of ourselves that we are scared of, it means grappling with our traumas, and encountering territory that is totally unknown to us.

As a result of this work, we can abide more and more within that peace and freedom that we have always longed for. We can love ourselves and life, unconditionally. We can experience life more and more as it truly is. If you are looking for practical, grounded support that still incorporates and includes the strange and unusual that we encounter on the spiritual path, I hope you'll consider working with me. There is so much more to what I do than I can speak to on this page. Please explore the pages of this site to better understand what I offer. And if you want to learn more about me or about my own journey with trauma and spiritual emergency, check out my About Me page. I know it can be very hard to find someone who does this work who is within your insurance network or who offers sliding scale as an option if finances are a concern for you. Check out my Fees and Insurance page to see whether what I offer can work for your budget. |
Or if you'd like to reach out, I'd love to hear from you! Please contact me if you would like to make an appointment or have questions.
Wishing you the healing you're seeking.
Warmly,
Kristin

I started a project with my best friend Francesca Morfesis in 2021. Together, through Full Circle Spirituality, we hope to contribute to addressing the challenges moderners face on the awakening path. We offer a sangha once a month as well as consultations to meditation teachers and dharma centers. We also provide numerous resources for people on the awakening path on our website. |
I made this video to give visitors here a better sense of who I am and what I offer. Enjoy!

Many of us assume that taking ourselves apart will be a spiritual adventure. It is fascinating to discover what we are and the causes and conditions in which we arise – but we expect something to catch us at the end. We might be willing to deconstruct ourselves if everything else in our world remained intact, or we might be willing to dismantle everything else as long as we remained intact, but disassembling both can seem pointless and scary. What is left of our world, what is left of “me”? |
