Sharon Salzberg, rocking it as usual! I love this piece in particular: "Barbara Fredrickson, Ph.D. is a psychologist and a leading researcher of positive emotions at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. In her work, Fredrickson found that moments of what she calls “micro-connection” (laughing, hugging someone, smiling at a stranger’s dog on the street) actually strengthen the functioning of our vagus nerve, the longest cranial nerve that stretches through the abdomen, and helps us deal more skillfully with the “fight or flight” stress response, and protecting the body against stress-induced inflammation." https://onbeing.org/blog/sharon-salzberg-the-gut-wrenching-process-of-befriending-ourselves/ |
